"Baptiste mulatre & l'Eveillé étaient du complot et qu'il ignore pour quel motif a manqué le coup, qu'après cela il s'était formé un autre complot pour tuer les patrouilles, et délivrer les esclaves qui était détenu dans la prison [soupsonné] du premier complot, et se trouvant à l'heure du midi dans la cabane de Jean Baptiste Commandeur parcequ'il l'avait appellé pour diner avec lui, où était [Grand] François & Joseph Mina, le dit Jean Baptiste [Le Prevent de ce tenus] pret pour se dernier complot que devait se faire le soir, mais que le dit déclarant ne voulait pas se trouver dans le dit complot, et aussi ayant dit que la mulatresse du Sr [Tounoir] était partie marrone, et croyant qu'il n'en résultat quelques choses de mauvais"
Translation
"Baptiste mulatto and L'Eveillé were in the plot and that he did not know for what reason missed the strike, that after it he had formed another conspiracy to kill the patrols, and free the slaves who were detained in the prison suspected of the first conspiracy, and finding themselves at noon in the cabin of Jean Baptiste Commander because they had been called to eat with him, where Gd Francois and Joseph Mina were, the said Jean Baptiste [sic] ready for this final conspiracy that must be done tonight, but the said declarant did not want to be found in the said conspiracy, and also having said that the mulatresse of Sr [Tounoir] had [run away to become a maroon], and believing that it resulted in some bad things"
