"Joseph Mina nego slave of Sr. Poédras, and having made him make his oath on the bible and the gospel as a Protestant to tell the truth about the aforementioned things, and about which we may ask him he declared that:
Asked about the statement of Joseph Mina which was read to him, he said that the statement was false because he was not in this conspiracy, but that it was true that he was warned by Joseph Mina the night when he would strike the patrols and that he had listened [on behalf of] Jean Baptiste Commander, thus [advising him at that point [not?] to speak to L'Eveillé]"
