Consécutivement avons fait comparraître un négre arrêté pour cette affaire de qui nous avons reçu le serment par Dieu & la Ste Croix dans la forme ordinaire l'avons intérogé
S'il est vrai qu'il s'appelle Louis esclave au Sieur Goudeau pour quel motif il est arrêté, de qu'elle nation il est s'il est [mari] & quel est son [maîtier], il a répondu
Qu'il est vrai qu'il s'appelle Louis esclave au Sr Goudeau, qu'il est arrêté pour l'affaire du complot contre les blancs que son maîtier est de servir son maître qu'il est de nation [Caraba]"

Next we have made appear a negro arrested for this matter of whom we have received the oath by God and the Holy Cross in the ordinary manner we have asked him
If it is true that he is called Louis slave of Sr Goudeau, for what motive is he arrested, of which nation is he from, if he is married, and what is his profession, he replied
That it is true that he is called Louis slave of Sr Goudeau, that he is arrested for the matter of the conspiracy against the whites, that his profession is to serve his master, that he is of the nation Caraba"
