Statement of Hector, slave of Mr. Goudeau
Immediately following, we had the man called Hector, negro slave of Mr. Goudeau, quoted by Mr. Goudeau Jr., appear before us. After having him take an oath to tell the truth about the stated quotation, which was read to him, and about what he would be asked, he said that:
It was true and that it was done after the first arrest of the slaves for the plot to massacre the whites and free the negros who were in prison, according to what he believes, and that he doesn’t know anything else about the plot.
When asked if he knew that there were several whites or free people of color who were involved in this plot
