Les mêmes Jour et an que dessus , en présence
des sieurs françois Allain, et Simon Croiset
temoins d’assistance, est comparru en personne, le
sieur Charles Dufour habitant de ce Poste, le
quel a fait serment pour Dieu notre Seigneur et
un signe de croix en forme de droit, de déclarer
ce qu’il a dit verbalement au sieur Alexandre
Le Blanc, au sujet du Complot fait par
les Esclaves de ce district contre [leurs] maîtres
a déclaré que = ayant été chès le sieur Le Blanc
le Neuf du courent , il lui avoit dit, qu’il devoit
y avoir une assamblée de négres derrière l’habitat-
-ion du sieur Vigne, afin de déterminer le Jour
qu’ils devoient frapper [sur] leurs maîtres, et qu’il
le tenoit du sieur Martin Bourgeat
A dit n’avoir rien de plus à déclarer, et qu’il
est agé de quarante & un an, après avoir réitèré
son serment, que ce qu’il a dit est la pure
vérité, et a declaré ne savoir écrire, a fait sa
marque ordinaire en présence des sieurs françois

moi Commandant sus dit, de tout quoi Je

"Charles Dufour
On the same day and year as stated above, in the presence of Messrs. François Allain and Simon Croiset, witnesses, Mr. Charles Dufour, inhabitant of this post, appeared in person. He took an oath to God our Lord to tell what he said verbally to Mr. Alexandre Le Blanc regarding the plot of the slaves of this district against their masters. He said that having been at the home of Mr. LeBlanc on the ninth of this month, he had said that there must have been a gathering of negros behind the house of Mr. Vigue in order to determine the day they were going to strike their masters, and that he got it from Mr. Martin Bourgeat.
He said he had nothing more to say, and that he is 41 years old. After having repeated his oath that what he said was the absolute truth, and declaring that he does not know how to write, he made his mark in the presence of Messrs. François Allain and Simon Croiset, who have signed their names with me, the aforementioned commandant, to all of which I give my word.
