Quoique il est été couché a la cabane de Baptiste Forgeron, il ne lui a pas parlé d'aucun [especes] de complot et meme qu'il ignore jusqu'a aujourd'huy qu'il y est seulement un complot
N'ayant plus rien a dire et avoir et avoir entendu lire sa declaration il a dit être la pure verité, qu'il est agé d'environ quarante ans ne sachant signer l'avons fait avec l'assesseur & les témoins d'assistance de tout"

"slave to Sr Augustin Allain named by Jean Baptiste Forgeron slave of Widow Lacour, and after having made him make his oath to God and the Holy Cross to tell the truth about the aforementioned statement, he said that
Although he was sleeping at the cabin of Baptiste Forgeron, he did not speak to him about any [aspect] of a conspiracy and also that he did not know until today that there was only one conspiracy.
Having nothing more to say and having heard all his declaration, he said that it is the pure truth, that he is around forty years old and not knowing how to sign we have done it with the assessor and the attending witnesses of all which we give authority.
