Asked why do you approve your declaration, it having been stated by a witnesses that the declarant was an accomplice in the conspiracy to kill the whites to obtain his freedom, we press him to tell the truth, and we have charged him with the said crime, he replies that the statement is false and that he denies everything, however he declares that Jean Baptiste commander of Sr Poedras told him the day of Easter that all the negros of his plantation were ready to attack the whites to which he replies that this was not"
