"blancs de quoi on lui fait charge sachant qu'il meritait d'êtré pendu, il répond qu'il connaissait le crime et la peine, mais qu'il n'a répondu d'y consenter ne croyant pas le faire, et croyant le [ménacer] que Jean Baptiste lui avait fait qu'il serrait tué avec ceux qui ne voudrait pas entrer dans leur complot et que malgré cela il ne voulait pas le faire n'ayant plus rien a dire, et ne sachant signer l'avons fait avec l'assesseur & les témoins d'assistance de tout quoi donnons foi. Translation
"whites of which we have charged him knowing that he deserves to be hung, he replies that he knew the crime and the punishment, but that he did not reply to have consented not believing that it would be done, and believing that he was threatened, that Jean Baptiste had made it clear to him that he would be killed with those who did not want to enter into their conspiracy and that despite this he did not want to do it having nothing more to say, and not knowing how to sign we have done it with the assessor and the attending witnesses of all which we give authority.
