Notes:
Although this plot was not found in the American State Papers and the historical survey plat map lists Antoine Decuir as the owner, we assume this to be the location of the estate of Joseph Decuir in the late 1790s. According to Costello ( 2010, p.4), this plantation had its genesis in 1783 when all of the property lying along False River between Bayous Lanquedoc and Cotonier was purchased at private sale by Joseph DeCuir from two Indian chiefs named Champagne and Nicolas.

Acreage Notes:
Acreage was calculated from the digitized plot boundary.
