"et apres leur avoir fait faire leur serment dans les formes ordinaires chaqu'un en particulier de dire la vérité et apres avoir lu au dit Jacob la déclaration du dit Jean Baptiste et divers reconventions faites a répondu le dit Jacob, mant que la dite déclaration est fausse, et quoiqu'il est entendu parler du complot il n'en était pas, et que s'il n'en a pas parlé au commandant, n'y à sa maîtresse il croyait que manquant de preuves il n'en fut [sic], qui le dit ratifie sa déclaration, aussi que Jean Baptiste la sienne, et apres avoir lu celle cy qu'il"

"and after having made them make thier oath in the ordinary manners each individually to tell the truth and after having read to the said Jacob the declaration of the said Jean Baptiste and various counterclaims made the said Jacob replied, lies that the said declaration is false, and although he was heard to speak about the conspiracy he was not in it, and that if he had not spoken of it to the commandant, nor his mistress, he believed that lacking proof he could not do it [sic], that the said man ratifies his declaration, also Jean Baptiste his, and after having read this that he"
